LOS ANGELES, CA (Feb. 12TH, 2015) L.A. Artcore is pleased to present this exhibit produced by the Southern California Women's Caucus for Art (SCWCA) and L.A. Artcore entitled Pulse of LA. By selecting works of art by twenty-three artists from all corners of the city, curator Leslie Cozzi puts into focus a portrait of Los Angeles through the paces of its twenty-three selected artists whose twenty-nine works in the show reveal essential and underlying thematic and aesthetic undercurrents ultimately revealing something new in the cracks about what it means to create in Los Angeles. The works mine a simultaneity of expressive modalities as well as incorporate alternative histories and artistic movements through a range of media including IPhone photography, site-specific installation, video, photography, sculpture and painting. whole, Pulse of LA consists of a myriad of expressive statements by its artists with an overall embrace of a larger development of socio-economic and cultural plurality. Out of this exhibit emerge new patterns, formations and insights into the pulse of Los Angeles.
