Our program was established in 2008 in San Francisco as room for painting room for paper, later renamed the George Lawson Gallery. We mounted 52 exhibitions at the 49 Geary location before moving the gallery to Culver City in June of 2011. Showcasing an international roster of mid-career artists with a core emphasis on contemporary painting, we have exhibited work from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Switzerland. Germany, the UK, as well as New York, Boston, Santa Fe, the Pacific Northwest, and California. The gallery maintains a robust publishing program, producing color catalogs for many of our exhibitions.
In November of 2012, Lawson signed a lease on a second space in San Francisco's developing TenderNob neighborhood at 780 Sutter Street.
