LOS ANGELES, CA (NOV. 2014) The Twigs are a collective of six senior citizen artists with over 300 years of experience between them, making and showing art since 1941. The Twigs work in diverse media: paint, ceramics, digital art, photography, and screen sculpture. They share an appreciation for the aesthetics and history of art, while challenging the boundaries of contemporary art with their own visions. Longtime friends as well as art cohorts, they meet monthly to discuss their work, and often climb into the 'Twigmobile,' an old VW Bus, to make gallery and museum visits throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Allen Bollinger paints large brightly colored abstractions with varied textures and movement.  Winston Marshall's  paintings are about discovering how space,  mass, time and movement can alter our perceptions by standing in front of a two-dimensional surface.  Frank Matranga, a master potter, works in large and small clay objects
and sculptures. Computers and high quality printers have provided Michael Rich with alternative means of expressing himself through digital art.  Mariann Scolinos sculpts three-dimensional wall hangings from mesh screen and aluminum bars, incorporating the wall as the negative space.  Bob Witte considers himself to be an experimental photographer producing montages and collages in both 2 and 3 dimensional formats.
