LOS ANGELES, CA (Apr. 12TH, 2015) L.A. Artcore is pleased to present a solo exhibit by Los Angeles sculptor and painter Seda Saar. Saar's sculptural constructions, installations and paintings explore phenomena in nature by combining materials that produce interactions between chromatic, sculptural , material and environmental elements. Saar's Employing of pigmented acrylic panels, mirrored panes and other hard-edged geometric forms are represented as forms for which scale, color and repetition are modulated to varying effect. Saar's emphasis of light in tandem with a form and/or surface's intrinsic qualities such as its translucency, opacity, color or refractibility engage the viewer's perception and establish a dialogue of an artwork as the product of an artist's subject, materials and method.  Saar's development of this work plays with both physical, architectural, environmental and illusionistic space whose optical qualities are completed by the quality of light in their specific environments.

Saar's paintings similarly convey immersive environments of color and light as a locale of the viewer's perception. Saar originally began this series as a photographic investigation of color and light by shooting studio mock-ups out of which Saar extended this process to paintings and lastly to sculpture. The histories of Modernist design, Op-Art, Futurism, the Light and Space Movement and Minimalism have been slyly integrated in Saar's process.
