"My process evolves differently with each painting, but in the end, the importance is on the journey rather than of the subject matter."

— Suhas Bhujbal

In this body of work, Journey, Suhas Bhujbal chronicles the travels and changes of scenery that have colored his memory and imagination. His figurative paintings focus on the everyday lives of the people he has encountered. Traveling through the Bahamas, Guatemala, Honduras, and Costa Rica, Bhujbal was influenced by the quiet simplicity these figures carried with them as they went about their daily routines. Bhujbal continues the consideration of simplicity in his A Quiet Town Series. The urban landscapes, purposefully made geographically ambiguous, allow his audience to bring themselves into the painting and into his journey.

Suhas Bhujbal was born and raised in India before moving to San Francisco. He received an MFA from the Academy of Art in 2005. His work has been exhibited at the Bakersfield Museum of Art, Palm Springs Museum, as well as many galleries throughout the US and abroad.
