LOS ANGELES, CA (NOV. 2014) L.A. Artcore is pleased to present this exhibit by a group of artists who met  in the art department of Seoul's Hong-Ik University between 1968 and 1975. In a serendipitous turn, the artists in this exhibit independently immigrated to different parts of the U.S. at roughly the same time during the mid -1980's. All of them resumed their art practices, aesthetically diverging from one another, and yet retaining close contact. Each artist's distinct craft, technique and process evinces reflectively, two worlds—past and present—that are straddled between the evolving identity of its maker. Using mixed media, oil painting and ceramics, the artists in this exhibit consistently seek out the present as a means of transforming their own questions about humanity.

This exhibit, organized between L.A. Artcore and Phil Kho greatly extends the vision of L.A. Artcore's mission statement, of exposing the public to contemporary art from arts communities around the world through its international exchange program, and through its exhibition schedule featuring over twenty-four monthly exhibitions of art per year.
