Please join us for Rachel Denny's First Thursday opening:

December, 4, 2014 at 6 p.m. Artist will be in attendance.

Rachel Denny is a Pacific Northwest artist with a rapidly growing national fanbase. Her life sized domestic trophies thrust her onto the art scene and represent her signature style. Rachel lives in rural Oregon on a farm with Yaks, several dogs and her husband.

Foster/White is pleased to present her third solo exhibition. She will effortlessly delight viewers with whimsical representations of wild creatures bedecked with re-purposed knit and sequins. Strange Menagerie features snakes, squirrels, coyote and tigers.

As stated by Denny, “We are drawn to the animal world from a young age – we learn our ABC's with the artificially cheerful images of the tiger and yak. As children, we are allowed a pet as our first responsibility and we hold these animals as dear friends and confidantes. As adults, we are still fascinated by the moments of wild beauty around us – a deer leaping into the forest or an osprey plunging into a lake for fish. We find in them the hint of something wild that we once were.”
