LOS ANGELES, CA (March 28TH, 2015) LA Artcore presents a group show reflecting the polished painting techniques of four very distinct artists.  The combination of these four artists promises something sure to satisfy anyone interested in Abstract painting.

Ann Gooding creates fascinating carved paintings using layers of paint to create texture, depth and eye stimulating movement, at times incorporating hard edge color fields to expand the composition.  Energetic, time consuming paintings that involve as much time in technical process and construction as they do consideration for the presentation of color.

Koojah Kim produces a steady output of abstract compositions that have something of sculptural element, with found materials merging into the surface, continually redefining herself as she negotiates groups and series in new ways.  Behind her pure abstractions are philosophic interests that merge nature, sense of self in society, and visual harmony into a balanced studio delivery.

Simon Rahimian is an abstract painter known for sincere, generous use of pure color in his easel paintings.  Each painting contains both a lively element and a subdued, mature handling of

shade, brightness and gesture dominate the compositions.  He has also built an historic collection of photography, starting in the 1970s in Tehran, Iran, carrying memories of the country’s pre-revolutionary days.

Parviz Yashar also has his background in Tehran, and works at a range of disciplines.  His ceramics are elegant and minimal, reflecting his profession in Industrial Design.  His paintings are exciting explorations of the human form, abstracted and interlaced.  Their musical, vibrant quality suggests a positive view towards human community working at the heart of the artist’s brush.
