LOS ANGELES, CA (DEC. 20TH, 2014) L.A. Artcore is pleased to present an exhibit of sculpture by Seoul, Korea-based artist Byung Chul Ahn. Chul Ahn's subject, the seed emanates from his feeling and connection to nature and is a form the artist investigates with both narrative and material possibility, from stone, stainless steel and marble. Chul Ahn's solid masses, organic shapes and polished surfaces connect to the elemental aspects of nature of whose varied characteristic results evolve the artist's relationship with nature. Chul Ahn's polished stainless-steel surfaces both project, absorb, reflect and transform their immediate surroundings acting both as objects that are suspended between consuming and producing their environments.
Chul Ahn's works have been presented in both architectural interiors and in outdoor public spaces including the Seoul Arts Center, Seoul, Korea, Sculpture by the sea, Perth, Australia and the Changwon Sculpture Biennial, Changwon-City, Korea. Chul Ahn received his B.F.A. and M.F.A. at Seoul National University and currently is a professor of environmental sculpture at Seoul National University.
