Artist Demonstration with Michael Obermeyer at the California Art Club Gallery; The Old Mill Celebrates “20th Anniversary Exhibition”

The California Art Club will present a painting demonstration with award-winning artist Michael Obermeyer at the historic Old Mill on October 12, as part of its celebration of the two-decade-long gallery partnership with The Old Mill Foundation.

The demonstration will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on that Saturday and there is no charge to attend this family-friendly event.

Obermeyer, who serves as the Club’s Vice President and is known for his Impressionistic plein air style that exquisitely captures atmospheric light, is one of the participating artists in the 20th Anniversary Exhibition: California Art Club at The Old Mill, which is currently on view.

The display showcases more than 60 original paintings that include works of the 200-year-old adobe building – El Viejo Molino – and its surrounding garden of native California trees and plantings, as well as iconic California vistas that have often been featured in the gallery through the years.

In addition to Obermeyer, other featured artists in the 20th Anniversary Exhibition include Peter Adams, Cliff Barnes, Nanette Biers, Inna Cherneykina, Alfonso Colocho, Rick J. Delanty, Karl Dempwolf, Linda DuPas, Esther Engelman, Mark Farina, Amanda Fish, Terri Ford, Brandon Gonzales, Eric Fei Guan, Nita Harper, Laurie Hendricks, Carolyn Hesse-Low, Richard M. About the California Art Club Gallery at The Old Mill (El Molino Viejo)

The California Art Club and The Old Mill Foundation (old-mill.org) are celebrating in 2019 the 20th anniversary of their partnership in providing a dedicated venue for showcasing contemporary-traditional fine art paintings created by the Club’s Artist Members. Since 1999, the Gallery has presented a series of exhibitions that offer an ever-changing look at the life through the eyes of many of the state’s foremost representational artists. The Old Mill, completed in 1816 as a grist mill for Mission San Gabriel, is the oldest commercial building in Southern California.  The room that is now the gallery was originally the Granery, where milled grain was stored.  The California Art Club Gallery at The Old Mill is located at 1120 Old Mill Road in San Marino, CA., and the telephone number is (626) 449-5458.
