We are adventurers--seeking and supporting beauty from mountaintops to sea floors…from wonderfully cluttered studios to the pristine walls of museums and galleries.
With an art career spanning 13 years, Hillary Metz has served as the director of prominent contemporary art galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Los Angeles. During that time Hillary also reveled in the music industry and international travel. Perched on the edge of the Pacific Ocean in the eclectic hubbub of Venice, California, she founded Blythe Projects in 2009--a freewheeling hybrid of painters, musicians, poets and filmmakers. The magic was sparked and 2010 found Blythe Projects taking over a 3,000 square foot exhibition space in the Culver City Arts District.
Blythe Projects focuses on early mid-career artists, but Hillary also lends support to emerging artists and serves on the MOCA Contemporaries and the Los Angeles Art Association Advisory Board.
We revel in art works that are beautiful and curious; works that weave between the spiritual and material worlds.
We are educated, but never for one moment elitist.
Blythe Projects has been described as 'that small space where Leonard Cohen meets Led Zeppelin'.
We are of creative minds and pure hearts.
